Fury vows to put on the glitz like Freddie Mercury
TYSON FURY has promised to produce his own kinda magic against Dillian Whyte on Saturday with a Wembley Stadium display for the ages.
Freddie Mercury’s 1985 Live Aid set with Queen remains for many the greatest showbiz performance the venue has seen.
But Fury is ready to create memories that will last a lifetime for the 94,000 spectators fortunate enough to be present and the millions watching around the globe by making sure Whyte becomes his latest opponent to bite the dust.
“I am ready to rock ’n’ roll, man,” said the WBC World heavyweight champion. “It will be a performance for the ages – 94,000 people, the biggest sporting crowd they have ever had at Wembley.
“It’s going to be an absolutely fantastic event, and I’m very much looking forward to it and to putting on a great show.
“I know Frank Warren and the guys have been working very hard on the entrances and all that sort of stuff.
“So it’s going to be a great night for boxing and the British fight fans aren’t going to forget in a merry hurry the Gypsy King going out with a bang.
“Creating memories means as much as any of the money you earn.

“There comes a point where it’s not about money – the achievement is worth more than money in any given situation. It has been a fantastic journey and I’m very happy with the way it has all turned out.”
Whether or not this will be 33-year-old Fury’s last fight, as he has said it will be, remains to be seen. But, if it is, he is adamant Whyte, 34, is a credible last opponent for a showman of his status.
He added: “Whyte is a fantastic opponent, he is the guy who has been mandatory for however long, the guy everyone has been avoiding – nobody wanted to fight Dillian Whyte, for whatever reason.
“He’s a vicious puncher, great puncher to the body, very compact, solid. He has a fantastic record of only two losses out of 28 fights.
“The fight sold out in just a few hours so it’s a fight people are excited about and I can’t wait to put on a great show.”
Fury’s homecoming has meant a training camp on his doorstep for the first time in years. He said: “I always train very well at home and I put it down to the good
Lancashire sea air, the green grass and the rain, the great British weather.
“I’m a proper Lancashire lad and it has been fantastic to have a full camp in Morecambe Bay. I’ve been breaking records in the gym, which is unusual at nearly 34.
“I saw the family a little bit at the start but I have kept my distance because I like to keep in fight mode. If I’m in fight mode, leave me in fight mode. If I’m in father mode, leave me there because there’s no in between.”
