PM’S ‘level up’ talk..in private jet
BORIS Johnson flew to Blackpool on a private plane – to give a ‘levelling up’ speech.
The PM spoke of tackling price rises and vowed to “unite and level up across the country”.
But he dodged a threehour train journey to get there and later outlined plans to shut ticket offices.
He took the private jet to Blackpool on Thursday – the same day minister Helen Wheeler called the Lancashire town “godawful” while launching a new digital strategy.
She told an audience: “I was just at a conference in Blackpool or Birmingham or somewhere godawful.”
She later apologised but Labour’s Angela Rayner said: “While a Tory minister was insulting Blackpool, Boris Johnson was jetting in on taxpayers’ money, skipping the train and dodging voters during a botched relaunch of his doomed premiership.”
