Net losers over data

ONE in five Brits cannot afford to get online to do vital tasks because they have run out of data.

It makes using public services, online banking and applying for jobs impossible for around 13 million.

Some 17% struggle to keep up with broadband payments and 18% routinely run out of data before the end of the month.

Graeme Oxby of Community Fibre, which did the poll, said: “Internet access is a basic right.”
