Payouts on bank gaffe

A BANK left customers short after it miscalculated interest they were owed.

Cynergy Bank says savings accounts opened on weekends went wrong.

Instead of applying interest straight away it was added the next Monday.

One victim, 48 and from Liverpool, said: “They kept saying there was nothing wrong. Each time they underpaid by about £1 or £3.”

He has been awarded £200. The bank apologised and said all those affected will be compensated.
