JAMES ROBY will be as proud today, when he breaks the Super League appearance record, as he was 18 years ago on his debut.

But the Saints skipper, 36, hopes things go a little less eventfully than the day he got told his career was under way.

The hooker (right) said: “I was panicking. I had a little Mini and crashed it. I was that excited to make my debut and represent St Helens.”
