Canada striking a blow
ANOTHER World Cup year, another national team’s players not getting paid the going rate by their association.
Remember that happening with Trinidad?
Well, now it’s Canada’s turn and good on them for striking before the Panama game last week.
FIFA needs to have a sliding scale of payments for World Cup qualifying teams based on their ranking and sponsorship deals.
That way, the teams who take in the most get the most and newbies such as Canada get what they deserve, based on a clear formula.
It says everything, though, that nations just aren’t getting what they’re worth.
