Bara: Do it for Billy

N Ireland v Cyprus Belfast, Today, 2pm

- By David Anderson

IAN BARACLOUGH has called on Northern Ireland to put on a performance for Billy Bingham and win back the fans.

Northern Ireland will remember their greatest manager, who has died aged 90, with a minute’s applause before today’s clash and Baraclough wants his players to pay their own tribute.

Some fans have turned on Baraclough because of their disappointing draw against Cyprus and defeat to Kosovo in the Nations League.

He said: “It’s sad to see Billy passing and hopefully tomorrow can be a celebration of his life and what he meant to the Northern Irish people.

“The crowd will be expecting us to get them off their seats and make sure we come away with the result.”
