ENGLAND star Harry Maguire was due to dive into married life today at a pool party with his new bride.

The bash comes just hours after the Three Lions defender wed Fern Hawkins, 27, at a romantic chateau in France’s Burgundy wine region.

Harry, 29, and Fern exchanged vows in front of England teammate Jordan Pickford, 28, and the Everton goalie’s wife Megan Davison, 26, who was a bridesmaid.

The Manchester United captain had arrived in Burgundy on a £50,000 private jet with around 30 family members and friends.

The group then headed to the £250,000 do at the historic Chateau Varennes, once voted one of the top 10 wedding venues in the world.

The entourage included a beautician and hairdresser for physiotherapist Fern, who met Harry as a teenager.

It is understood the couple wrote their own wedding vows and chose a singer to serenade them in the chateau’s grounds.

Cocktails

They had enjoyed cocktails with loved ones on Friday night – and were partying today at the chateau’s outdoor pool.

A source said: “Harry wanted everything to be perfect. It was for close family and friends, and there was no expense spared.”

Guests were asked not to use mobile phones to avoid snaps being leaked and one of Fern’s close friends was tasked with taking the official wedding photos.

The couple have an affection for France – Harry proposed to Fern in Paris in February, 2018.

Afterwards she said: “Harry made me the happiest girl in the world and asked me to marry him in the most perfect way.”

The Varennes estate has a Princess Suite, 22 bedrooms, 18 bathrooms, a church and an orangery described as one of the most beautiful reception rooms in “all of France”.

The couple had exchanged vows at a register office in Crewe, Cheshire, last month to get a marriage certificate but always intended the French ceremony to be their real wedding day.

They have two daughters – Lillie Saint, three, born exactly nine months after England beat Colombia on penalties at the 2018 World Cup, and two-year-old Piper Rose.

Harry’s proud parents, Zoe and Alan, travelled from their home near Sheffield, alongside his brothers Laurence, 25, and Joe, 30.

Harry will get a short summer break before joining his Old Trafford teammates – and new Reds coach Erik
