Ange knew that Mor would come

- SCOTTISH ROUND-UP

ANGE POSTECOGLOU praised his Celtic players for keeping their patience as the Scottish Premiership champions rallied to overcome Ross County.

Moritz Jenz rescued Celtic with a late goal on his debut in his side’s 3-1 win yesterday.

Kyogo Furuhashi had opened the scoring for the visitors before Alex Iacovitti equalised and then Celtic keeper Joe Hart kept out County’s Owura Edwards.

That proved crucial as Jenz glanced home in the 84th minute and Liel Abada added a third in injury time.

Celtic boss Postecoglou said: “I thought the players were outstanding at controlling the game and minimising their threats.

“I don’t think we were frustrated at all. It was a matter of time for the goals to come and thankfully they came.”

Alfredo Morelos marked his injury return with a goal as Rangers beat Kilmarnock 2-0 to also earn a second successive league win.

Antonio Colak ended

Killie’s resistance with the 51st-minute opener before making way for Colombian striker Morelos, who returned after a five-month absence to find the net.

It was the perfect response following a dismal midweek defeat in Belgium and they now look to overturn their 2-0 deficit in their Champions League decider against

Union Saint-gilloise at Ibrox on Tuesday night.

Gers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst said: “It’s always a very tough game when you play against opposition who would make it difficult for you to create a lot of space.

“It’s very important for the strikers, for their confidence, and also for Tom Lawrence and Rabbi Matondo to get an assist.”

Aberdeen beat St Mirren 4-1 with two from Bojan Miovski, while St Johnstone beat Motherwell 2-1.
