Railway sleepers NOT on the track

-

STRANDED commuters kip on benches at London’s Paddington Station after strikes hit the rail network.

Around 6,500 train drivers at nine rail companies, who are members of the Aslef union, staged their latest 24-hour walkout yesterday in a dispute over pay.

The country is facing a summer of strike as unions call for pay increases to help with the cost of living crisis.

Mick Whelan, general secretary of Aslef, warned unless the deadlock was broken there was a “big possibility” of more walkouts.
