150 at NHS ‘togs bank’

-

STRAPPED NHS workers are turning to charity handouts from a ‘uniform bank’ to clothe their kids.

In just one session, more than 150 staff took home donated school uniforms and work togs.

The cost of living project at Barking, Havering and Redbridge trust in East London is believed to be the first of its kind.

Charity Smile London and Essex handed over 30 boxes of new uniforms.

Volunteer Charleen Elton said: “I have been donating some of my own things via social media, as well as using these platforms myself.”
