Art row is bananas

AN artist who attached a banana to a wall with tape is being sued for allegedly copying another’s work.

Italian Maurizio Cattelan is accused of breaching copyright by Joe Morford, from Glendale, California, who says it is just like his duct-taped fruit, Banana & Orange, created in 2000.

Cattelan says that, unlike his own banana, the fruit in Banana & Orange is synthetic, so Morford “can’t own the idea”.
