20 killed in hotel terror

AT least 20 people were killed and dozens wounded when Islamist terrorists stormed a hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

Gunmen thought to be from al-shabab targeted the popular Hayat Hotel after setting off explosions on Friday evening.

A gun battle with police raged for hours and security forces were still trying to end the siege last night.

Many guests, including children, were rescued.
