Fast Bast is Austria star

- MOTOGP BY ZOE BURN

ENEA BASTIANINI will lead a Ducati lock-out of the front row in Austria today after powering his way to a first ever Motogp pole at the Red Bull Ring.

The Italian (top) left it to the closing seconds of yesterday’s Qualifying Two to steal the top spot from Pecco Bagnaia.

He said: “It surely was an incredible day. I have missed this feeling for a few years and it’s great to be back in this situation.

“We will start ahead of everyone else and we will aim at the top.”

ROUND THREE of the Czech Masters will resume today after heavy rain in Prague left large parts of the Albatross Resort waterlogged.

The tournament has been reduced to 54 holes and the third round, which began briefly yesterday, will be concluded today with Malaysia’s Gavin Green leading on 14 under.

Green is three strokes ahead of Belgium’s two-time winner Thomas Pieters, Germany’s Marcel Schneider and England’s Richard Mansell.

Tournament director David Williams said: “There was no way the course was going to be playable.”
