Campbell stuns nine-man Gers

SCOTTISH ROUND-UP

-

RANGERS boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst admitted his side shot themselves in the foot after Hibernian halted their 100 per cent start to the new Scottish Premiership season

Hibs’ Josh Campbell swerved in a brilliant injurytime equaliser with the Gers paying the price for red cards for John Lundstram and sub Alfredo Morelos after the break.

“After the two red cards, it was going to be very difficult, Van Bronckhorst said. “We shot ourselves in the foot. You knew it would be a tough final 20 minutes.” Martin Boyle had cancelled out James Tavernier’s penalty opener before a header from Tom Lawrence (below) restored the lead for Rangers.

But Lundstram saw red for cynically hauling down Boyle in the 66th minute. And referee Willie Collum had no hesitation in giving Morelos his marching orders just nine minutes later for an elbow on Marijan Cabraja.

Celtic, who are now the only unbeaten team in the top tier, host Hearts today.
