BUMP IN THE ROAD

As Amelia’s pregnancy is exposed, Emmerdale’s Daisy Campbell says she’s ready for what’s coming – with a little help from One Born Every Minute

-

Hi, Daisy! How did you feel when you were told Amelia was going to get pregnant?

I was absolutely shocked. I’ve always wanted this storyline for Amelia, so I was over the moon.

Amelia seems to be really coming around to the idea of her pregnancy when she has her scan this week…

Noah asked to come along and that makes her very happy. When she first found out she didn’t want to see or know about the baby and she was scared. So this is a real contrast – she’s excited, she’s ready to have the baby and she has the support from Noah.

How would you describe Noah and Amelia’s relationship now?

They’re just getting together at this point. They are more than friends. There is this closeness and they both know that, but they’re not quite official yet.

Do you have to wear a fake pregnancy bump yet? I’m wearing the medium one at the moment. When I started with the small one, it did feel weird. But now it feels really good – it’s quite comfy, actually.

And are you looking forward to the birth scenes?

I am really excited. I feel like that’s what you’re working towards with this story. I’ve watched a lot of teenage pregnancy birth videos and I’ve watched a lot of One Born Every Minute to prepare.

Amelia’s pregnancy ends up being revealed part way through the school prom That must be an awful experience for her?

It’s shouted out right in the middle of the village hall, which is really horrible, but in a way she feels like a weight has been lifted from her. Her dad and a lot of people are there when it happens, so at first she is mortified and in shock – it should be a very personal moment between her and her dad, to reveal this sort of thing.
