TEENAGE terror Etienne Camara is hungry to give new Huddersfield boss Mark Fotheringham a real taste of what he is made of.

The midfielder, 19, impressed having been restored to the starting line-up as the Terriers grabbed a battling 3-3 draw with Luton on Tuesday.

And it looks likely the Terriers’ academy ace will be given another chance to shine in today’s lunchtime showdown with Yorkshire rivals Hull.

“I’m enjoying being in the team, it’s my job to make sure I stay,” said Camara.

“I’ve learnt a lot being in the first team, it’s great. The intensity is very high and everybody is very strong, so it can only help me keep improving.

“Technically the players are better and the game is quick, so you have to be very fit and ready for it.

“I’m learning a lot from captain Jonathan Hogg, he’s an example for me. The way he trains every day, the way he’s focused and how humble he is, he’s given me a lot of advice. That’s really helped me. He’s a leader – and I want to be a leader.”

Former Angers and US Torcy playmaker Camara has played six league games this season and is confident he and other young players will get a chance to shine under Fotheringham.

“There’s a big responsibility, the manager has chosen me and you have to give everything,” he added.

“He trusts you and it’s a good thing for the academy and shows how good our B team is with players coming up into the first team. There’s so many good players.”

Fotheringham replaced Danny Schofield last month after he was sacked for a run of worrying results.

The Scot, 38, joined the Terriers on a contract until 2025 and is happy with Camara’s progress.

He said: “He’s a special player and we need to be careful not to hype him too much but he’s doing so well physically and he’s a good kid.”

Hull, who recently sacked their manager Shota Arveladze, last won at Huddersfield over nine years ago.

Temporary manager Andy Dawson is expected to be in charge of the Tigers today with negotiations having broken down to appoint Portuguese Pedro Martins as Arveladze’s replacement.

“Our team is in very capable hands with club legend Andy Dawson,” said Tigers owner Acun Ilicali.
