The truth about sex beast cop’s childhood

- EXCLUSIVE by Saskia Rowlands feedback@people.co.uk

POLICE rapist David Carrick tried to win sympathy in court by whingeing about “childhood trauma”.

But a relative accused the beast of telling “malicious lies” in an attempt to cheat his way to a softer sentence.

The family member told us: “David had a very happy childhood and spent his time attending Taekwondo classes, horse riding and skateboarding with friends.

“His parents both worked, always had money and the kids had everything they could want including regular holidays abroad to Spain.

“He became the monster he became because that’s just the way he is. There’s no other reasoning and he’s now using the blame game.”

Manipulative

The relative, who shared these pictures of the former Met PC as a boy, added that, despite his advantages, he was a nasty piece of work “from day dot”.

He bullied his sister incessantly, once pouring boiling water over her head. The relative went on: “He’s a spoiled brat and he should have been jailed a lot sooner. David was a quiet child but was always controlling, manipulative and narcissistic – he was the favourite and always got his way.

“His tantrums were ridiculous and if he didn’t get exactly what he wanted everyone would know about it. He had no remorse for anything and believed he was the centre of the universe – he thought he was invincible.”

Speaking after Carrick, now 48, was jailed for a minimum of 30 years, the relative believes he might try to end his life.

“I don’t think he’ll last that long. He needs control so if he wants to end the situation he will,” the relative added. Carrick became “very angry” after his parents separated when he was a teen growing up in Wiltshire.

“Around 14 he was withdrawn and had angry outbursts – he wanted to move in with his dad,” the relative said.

“Life did not go his way and he retaliated.” His mum went on to have two more kids with a new partner, who Carrick reviled.

The relative overheard him say to one family member, “She ain’t no f***ing sister of mine, the little sket.” Asked how they felt after learning of Carrick’s horrific crimes, the relative replied: “There was no shock whatsoever because he’s never been a nice person.

“People deserve to know how and why it’s taken 17 years, and whoever is responsible needs to be held accountable.

“But ultimately there is only one person responsible for this and that’s David. He’s finally where he should be – it’s where he belongs.”

Carrick, from Stevenage, Herts, pleaded guilty to 85 offences including 48 rapes, committed against 12 women over 18 years.

Southwark crown court heard how the exsquaddie told a probation officer his parents were heavy drinkers who neglected him and his stepfather abused him.

But after he was sentenced two weeks ago, Carrick’s estranged mother Jean also dismissed his claims, telling a newspaper she believed he was lying to get a reduced sentence.

Jean, 67, from Salisbury, who has not seen him for 15 years, said: “That part really hurt me…he was never neglected, never.”
