We can reveal the superstar singer has healed her long-running rift with Matthew Knowles – and he has since been helping her with her marketing strategies.
An insider told us: “There was a lot of tension because of the nasty Live Nation lawsuit but he and Bey are back on good terms.
“This is why her partnership with Verizon is reminiscent of the deals Matthew would broker for her 20 years ago.”
Beyonce stopped the world – and almost stole the show from headliner Usher – when she teased her new country album at the Super Bowl.
The singer, who released Cowboy Carter on Friday, appeared in a commercial for telecoms firm Verizon during the final in February.
Matthew managed her career from her Destiny’s Child days until she went solo. But in 2011 she fired him after being told he had stolen
from her. Matthew later took Bey’s former concert promoter, Live Nation, to court, claiming that it had soured his relationship with his daughter by making “false statements”.
It was also rumoured that the
row had been partly driven by his alleged infidelity. Matthew is thought to have fathered at least two children outside his marriage to Beyonce’s mum Tina, who he split from in 2011 after 31 years of marriage.
In Beyonce’s 2016 hit, Daddy Lessons, she recalled how Matthew had taught her to always stand up for herself and be a “soldier”.
And she has certainly proved that with Cowboy Carter, which has seen Beyonce reclaim the country music genre and bring it back to its Black roots.
