Knob- wipe nurse gets kicked out

A NURSE who performed a sex act on a terrified patient as he lay helpless in his hospital bed has been struck off.

Eddie Presquito removed the man’s bed clothes and when challenged told him: “Shhh, be silent, you will disturb the other patients.”

Filipino- born Presquito also washed the man” s genitals with a wet wipe while on a night shift at the Charing Cross Hospital ( above) in Hammersmith, west London.

Presquito told ‘ Patient X’ that it was the only way to lower a high temperature, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.

A conduct and competence committee found Presquito guilty of a series of allegations in his absence and have kicked him out of the profession.

The panel’s chairman said: “Mr Presquito has shown no insight into his sexual misconduct.”

Patient X, in his 20s, underwent surgery for appendicitis five days before the incident on 19 January last year.

When he challenged Presquito the nurse remarked, “Shh, I am trying to pleasure you”.

He justified his actions on Patient X to a colleague, claiming that he was “going the extra mile” and that it was “above and beyond” care for the man.

Presquito, of Soho, central London, denied all charges but was found guilty of all but lesser claims of lying.

He has 28 days to appeal his permanent ban from the profession.
