Fake academic duped students into sex for cash

-

A MAN admitted posing as an academic to scam women into having sex with him in exchange for a fictitious scholarship.

Mark Lancaster promised female students, aged 17 to 24, up to £ 15,000 a year in return for sexual services.

The 39- year- old, of Waterlooville, Hants, claimed sexual activity was the practical assessment of the interview process and on at least one occasion fitted covert cameras in the bedroom and bathroom to record the women.

Lancaster used a fake website to dupe his victims.

It is believed that more than 40 people contacted the site before he was exposed by an undercover journalist.

He admitted charges of voyerism and trafficking for sexual exploitation carried out between September 1, 2012, and September 30, 2012, at Southwark Crown Court.

Lancaster will be sentenced on July 19.
