HACKERS POISED FOR BIGGEST-EVER CELEB HOME SEX MOVIE RAID
Stars ‘terrified’ by Gameover Zeus virus threat
RUSSIAN gangs are using complex computer viruses to unleash an explosive SEX TAPE epidemic.
The UK’s National Crime Agency last week warned of new file- swiping programmes called “GameOver Zeus” and “Cryptolocker”.
They’re both designed to mine laptops and PCs for data, with Eastern European mafia dons then BLACKMAILING the owners for return of personal information.
The sophisticated “worm” has already infected 250,000 computers worldwide, proving no- one is safe – especially not the rich and famous.
And with £ 16million already extorted from victims, experts reckon “it’s only a matter of time” before intimate photos and home movies starring well- known celebs are stolen and made public.
One key source close to Evgeniy Mikhailovich Bogachev – the man identified by the FBI as the brains behind the bug – says celebs are in his sights.
Pay- dirt
Our mole revealed: “The programmes were originally designed to steal financial details.
“But hackers quickly realised they could also be used to access photo and video albums. It’s only a matter of time before they get lucky and gain entry to a celebrity’s account.
“And if there’s anything in there of a sexual nature, it’ll be pay- dirt for the likes of Bogachev.
“They can either extort the famous person for money, or simply sell the X- rated material to the highest bidder – or both!”
It wouldn’t be the first time a famous female has suffered from a leaked personal nookie vid.
Socialite Paris Hilton had one aired in 2004, Kim Kardasian was left red- faced in 2007, and Tulisa Contostavlos issued a public apology after hers got unveiled in 2012.
Security expert Marcel Mascunan, Marketing Manager for Kroll Ontrack Asia- Pacific, said: “There’s really no alternative to getting files back after the infection except paying the ransom.
“It’s a really nasty piece of malware.”
