WE’RE GHANA SURVIVE THE GROUP OF DEATH!

-

ALBERT ADOMAH insists Ghana can come through the group stage.

The Black Stars’ chances have already been written off by most pundits as they bid to find a way past Germany, USA and Portugal in the toughest World Cup draw.

Adomah also said that Ghana are confident of at least matching their march to the last eight four years ago in South Africa.

And the Middlesbrough winger reckons the experts are wrong to make them outsiders in the four- way tussle to progress to the knock- out stages.

He said: “People are saying it’s the ‘ Group of Death’, but I don’t see it like that.

“Yes it is a tough group and, to be honest, it’s not the group you’d pick for yourself.

“But they are all tough groups. It’s not like we are in with Brazil and Argentina. The way I see it is that the other teams in there will all take points off each other.”

Favour

Ghana – who have beaten the USA in the last two World Cup finals – face the Yanks in their opening game tomorrow, with Portugal meeting Germany in a heavyweight clash in the other group match.

Adomah added: “The two big boys won’t want to lose against each other and if they draw, then they only have to draw one more game and that opens the door for us.

“If we can win a game, against the USA say, then can get a draw off one of the others then we are right in the mix. People might under- estimate us and that could go in our favour.

“Most people will expect Germany and Portugal to go through, but we are confident in our own ability after what happened in South Africa.

“We almost made the semi- finals last time and we’ll use that experience to our benefit.

“Add into the mix a lot of exciting young players, and there’s no reason why we can’t qualify for the next round.”
