‘ I feel ashamed and humilated’

A WOMAN has admitted repeatedly posting naked pictures of her wife online in a revenge porn attack after their relationship broke down.

Lesbian Alissia Wright pleaded guilty to distributing the explicit images of her partner to deliberately cause her distress.

Southampton Magistrates’ Court heard how mother- of- two Wright shared two images on the social media site Instagram multiple times in March.

She also attached offensive hashtags to them, as well as tagging other people in the post so they would see it.

Even after one of the posts was taken off the site by Instagram at the victim’s request, Wright continued to re- post the images.

She also threatened the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, that there was more to come.

Naked

The court was told that the repeated uploading of the revenge porn happened after the pair had separated.

They are currently going through divorce proceedings.

The couple had been in a relationship for several years and were married in January 2015, although Wright’s victim is now with another partner.

Prosecuting, Natalie Angel told the court: “The defendant had sent a photo of the victim dancing and having her top pulled up and her pants pulled down.

“There were two photos of her on SECRET SHOWER SNAP: Alissia Wright Instagram. One of them was when the victim ‘ Facetimed’ the defendant when she got out of the shower and was naked.

“She had no idea the picture had been taken.”

Wright, 32, of Southampton, Hants, then posted a series of photos on Instagram – including naked images of her wife and images of other naked women, again with offensive descriptions attached to them.

The court listened as the victim read out her victim impact statement while Wright was sitting in the dock.

The victim said: “I wanted to say that I felt embarrassed and worried that she had tagged people in the images.

“I felt embarrassed to involve the police because I did not want anyone to see them.

“I feel ashamed and humiliated and feel it is my naked body and it is up to me who sees it.

“She posted it four times, even after Instagram removed it.

“It was as if she was determined to keep it up and make sure as many people as possible could see it.”

Anxiety

Khalid Missouri, defending Wright, said: “Ms Wright made a full admission in interview and said she was sorry.

“She has never been in trouble before and suffers from depression and anxiety, which she is taking medication for.”

Wright admitted two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.

She will be sentenced later this month.
