Scumbag selling secrets of John Lewis ad for £100k

- By SIMON DEAN simon@ sundaysport. co. uk

SUNDAY Sport has RESCUED Christmas for millions – by exposing a sick scumbag trying to sell details of this year’s John Lewis festive TV ad. The upmarket retailer’s annual commercial delights Britain and to many represents the true meaning of Christmas. The ad’s theme is a closely- guarded secret until it first airs in the run- up to the big day. But crafty Andrew Hopkinson, 32, claims to have seen the final version of the advert’s script and offered to sell details to Sunday Sport – for a cool £ 100,000! Playing along with his vile scheme to destroy the magic of Christmas, we arranged to meet him in a Manchester wine bar. Hopkinson bragged: “You’ll have all the details of what’s going to be in the John Lewis ad before anyone else. “This is dynamite. Well worth £ 100K.” When asked if he had qualms about spoiling Christmas for countless kiddies – including many orphans in council institutions – he laughed: “No!” We made our excuses and said we had to go to the cashpoint to draw out the cash. Needless to say, Sunday Sport handed over NO money and we have NO plans to reveal the contents of this year’s John Lewis ad.

And our dossier on Hopkinson’s wretched antics has been passed to the authorities.

In recent years the touching John Lewis ads have featured a snowman and snow woman falling in love and an elderly man peering at a young girl through a telescope. SPIRIT OF XMAS: The John Lewis adverts
