Blonde politician Michelle Rempel used the word during a discussion about her home province of Alberta in Canada.

But her opponents have taken issue with the phrase because they claim it is a swear word.

Conservative Rempel compared the ruling Liberal government’s treatment of Alberta to “a fart in the room that nobody wants to talk about or acknowledge.” But Green Party leader Elizabeth May took issue with Rempel’s use of the word “fart” calling it “distinctly unparliamentary.”

A source said: “This is a huge row that is causing bitterness between the two women.

“The pair really hate each other now. And it’s all about whether or not fart is a swearword.
