Did doggers wipe £2.5m off Rio’s house?
FOOTIE legend Rio Ferdinand made a massive loss on his mansion by slashing £ 2.5MILLION off the asking price.
And last night it was suggested that DOGGERS are driving down houses prices in swanky Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
The ex- Manchester United footballer, 40, originally put the vast property up for sale at £ 4.5million.
And after another price drop to £ 3m, he slashed it again to £ 2m for the final sale earlier this year.
Insiders say Rio was keen to quit Cheshire as he is now based in London with busty ex- TOWIE star Kate Wright, 27, and his kids, and is desperate to move on from the sevenbedroom house.
A source said: “This house holds many happy memories. But Rio’s life is in London now and he’s trying to move on.
“He got engaged to Kate recently with the blessing of his children and there is no need for them to keep hold of this place which is 200 miles away.”
But one estate agent said that, after becoming known as a dogging hot spot, Alderley Edge has lost some of its sheen.
Our source, who asked not to be identified for fear of reprisals from other estate agents, said: “Don’t get me wrong, Alderley Edge is still very nice.
“But you’re not going to shell out a few million quid if there’s a chance you may have sex people bumming an old slapper from Stockport at the end of your drive.”
The town appears on several leading dogging websites and attracts sex people from as far afield as Manchester and Stoke.
