WE NAME GATWICK DRONE PILOT

WORLD EXCLUSIVE Ruined 300,000 holidays

-

TRAVELLERS caught up in the Gatwick drone fiasco have bombarded 10 Downing Street with demands for compo.

And it comes after a web rumour suggested THERESA MAY was in fact behind the mayhem.

A meme featuring a photoshopped image of the Prime Minister controlling a drone alongside the caption “Should distract everyone for a few hours” swept through cyberspace last week.

The obvious gag was that the chaos was orchestrated by Mrs May to distract voters from the hash over Brexit and her ongoing battle to win over Parliament.

But many frustrated air travellers, who had spent hours waiting at the Sussex airport, were in no mood for jokes and appeared to take the suggestion seriously.

JerkyJoe68 posted on Twitter: “I would not be surprised if Theresa May really was behind this. She should pay us compo!”

Another, KillThemAll45 – who had been stuck at Gatwick since Wednesday – raged: “I’m going to sue Theresa May over this.” FIASCO: Around 300,000 passengers were hit

Gatwick finally reopened on Friday morning after more than a day of flight cancellations imposed after a drone was spotted near the runway.

The airport, Britain’s second busiest, said 837 flights were scheduled on Friday but there were delays and cancellations.

Around 300,000 people are thought to have been affected by the incident.
