MY UNSUNG HERO ‘Without the hard working farmers, we’d all starve!’

I SAW Prince Charles on the news appealing for an “army” of workers to harvest Britain’s fruit and veg during the pandemic.

And it got me thinking that our farmers really are the most vital people in the country. Without them, we’d all starve!

Everything on the supermarket shelves – everything we eat – comes from farmers.

Virus or not, they are the real key workers and they go out into their fields in all weathers to grow crops or raise livestock.

And, from what I read, the big supermarkets don’t pay them fairly.

They have to be among the hardest working people in the country – so I think it’s time we gave a big shout out to Britain’s farmers who have been working double- hard in this difficult time. ‘ ARMY’ APPEAL: Prince Charles
