ANGUS has been on the Poor List since its inception in and since then his financial status has remained remarkably consistent – he’s never had anything more than tuppence in his ragged pockets.

But his colourful character has developed apace – to the delight and wonder of Blackpool residents, who watch his progress around their town with keen interest.

Angus communicates with the outside world using a system of barks, grunts and whistles that are only audible to cats.

His imaginary sister Maureen joined Angus on the prom earlier this year and the pair have lively debates. Angus’s age is unknown.
