Bison tramples woman to death in wildlife park
A WOMAN was trampled to death by a BISON at just hours after a national park reopened to tourists amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The beast knocked the woman to the ground and trampled on her soon after she arrived at Yellowstone National Park.
She was among the first to be let back in to the western USA park and was in the Upper Geyser Basin area, near Old Faithful, when she approached the large mammal too closely, park officials said in a statement.
She was treated by paramedics but died at the scene. The incident is under investigation.
It was the first bison attack at the park this year.
The 3,500- squaremile wilderness area reopened last week, after being closed for two months because of the coronavirus outbreak.
