CAPTAIN CALAMITY: Man Utd’s Maguire wound up in court over bar brawl

CLAIMS of Albanian gangsters injecting innocent women with beastly drugs, coppers booting people in the legs and scrapping in the street…

The Harry Maguire trial has not exactly cast the Greek island of Mykonos in a good light.

Manchester United skipper Maguire was found guilty of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and attempted bribery over a late- night brawl.

He is now appealing his sentence of 21 months and 10 days in prison, which will be suspended because it is a first offence.

It’s claimed the England international thought his sister Daisy had been stabbed by a “gangster- style” Albanian, which led to the confrontation.

During the court hearing last week, Daisy is said by family friend Ashden Morley to have been injected with a “rape drug” amid the scrapping in the Mykonos bar.

To add to the island’s woes, the day after the 27- year- old defender’s trial, Mykonos was slapped with new COVID- related restrictions by the Athens government.

But there’s a LOT more to Mykonos than ugly violence.
