Lesbian sex is not like eating a sandwich!

TITANIC beauty Kate Winslet has described her intimate lesbian sex scenes with Ammonite co- star Saoirse Ronan as “definitely not like eating a sandwich”.

The actress, 44, plays an older woman who falls for the posh wife of a dinosaur expert in the new movie.

Set in the 1800s on the south coast of England, the film follows the life of the palaeontologist Mary Anning – played by Kate – who develops an intense romantic relationship with a much younger married woman, played by Saoirse, 26.

THRILLED: Kate was ‘ proud’ of love scene with co- star Saoirse sequels – said: “I just think Saoirse and I, we just felt really safe.

Kate said Ammonite’s British writer- director Francis Lee was “naturally very nervous” about the sex scenes.

She added: “And I just said to him, ‘ Listen, let us work it out.’ And we did.

“We’ll start here. We’ll do this with the kissing, boobs, you go down there, then you do this, then you climb up here.

“We marked out the beats of the scene so that we were anchored in something that just supported the narrative.

“I felt the proudest I’ve ever felt doing a love scene on Ammonite. And I felt by far the least self- conscious.”

Kate has famously peeled for the cameras many times.

Along with Titanic, she’s stripped for roles in The Mountain Between Us, Cleanfix, The Reader, Little Children, Iris, Quills, Holy Smoke, Hideous Kinky, Hamlet and Jude.

The mum- of- three added: “I’m nearly 45 and Saoirse is almost half my age. To have an opportunity to be my real forty- something self, post- children, you know?

“Women aren’t really having the courage to do that. I was just excited to say, this is what it is, peeps. This is how I am now, and it’s very much not the body I had 20 years ago.”
