OUTRAGE OVER TOFF STUDENTS’ ‘BONK A POOR BIRD’ COMPETITION

- By BARNEY SAMUELS news@ sundaysport. co. uk

A TOP university has been rocked by claims that new students planned a competition for “posh lads” to have sex with the poorest girl on campus.

A group of incoming freshers at Durham University calling themselves Durham Boys Making All The Noise discussed the plans on social media.

Students drew the uni authorities’ attention to messages leaked from the group. One wrote: “I hope you’re aware that there’s a freshers ‘ lads’ group chat with loads of boys discussing [ girls] like objects and making plans to ‘ shag the poorest girl’. Disgusting.

Twisted

“Show us how much you condemn this behaviour with your actions.”

The Tab student news website said that it had seen screenshots from one chat that said: “Can’t get enough since girls don’t put out.”

Snooty students at Durham are traditionally called “rahs” and can be spotted by their red trousers, baseball caps and cricket jumpers – at least they were in 1991- 94.

Many are bitter and twisted as

Oxford and Cambridge were their first- choice academies but they were too dim to get in, despite having expensive private educations.

The university’s induction week starts on September 28.

Jeremy Cook, the pro- vice- chancellor, said: “The university has been made aware of some utterly abhorrent comments on social media that we understand may have been posted by Durham students.

“Durham University utterly condemns the content and behaviour demonstrated in these social media posts. This is entirely unacceptable and violates the values and behaviours that we uphold as a university community.

“We instigated an investigation by our student disciplinary team as soon as we were made aware of these social media posts.

“If these posts are found to be genuine and attributable, we will take action to ensure that those involved will have no place at Durham University.”
