BORIS OWES ME £40 FOR CLEANING HIS GUTTER – IN 2003 !

Window cleaner Ted adds to PM’s money woes

WHEN window cleaner Ted Phillips heard that Boris Johnson had been slapped with a county court judgement for non- payment of a £ 535 debt, he was not surprised.

Because Ted says the PM still owes him £ 40 for clearing his guttering… 18 YEARS AGO!

Ted, 67, and still working on the ladders, has had his round in posh Islington, north London, for 30 years and said that apart for the unpaid guttering work, customer Boris was a proper gent.

He explained: “As well as doing the windows, I offer an additional service of clearing out gutters. Not a lot of people know that leakages caused by blocked gutters can cause untold structural damage but it can be prevented by regular clearing, especially in the autumn when the leaves are falling.

“I was explaining this to Boris and he said something that sounded like Latin and nodded. “So I done the work.” Ted explained that Boris paid £ 20 a month for his windows to be cleaned and it was paid “regular as clockwork” by standing order.

But when it came to getting the extra £ 40, he hit a brick wall.

Ted said: “At the time,

Boris had two jobs, as MP for Henley and editor of The Spectator.

“If I ever managed to catch him, he’d burble about rushing for a vital vote or a deadline.

“I finally gave it up as a bad job and stopped doing his windows. I ain’t a charity, am I?

“From what I hear, he got a couple of Romanian lads to do it.

“You should have seen the state of ’ em! Streaks all over the place.”

Last week, it was reported in the satirical magazine Private Eye that Mr Johnson has the CCJ against his name.

A Downing Street spokesperson said the claim against the PM was without merit.
