It’s a CON, not a COP summit
RISHI Sunak has been bullied into going to the COP27 climate summit after previously saying he would stay away.
Another u- turn and a damaging one because these events are UTTERLY POINTLESS.
We’ve had 26 of these so- called “important” summits so far and global warming is getting worse, not better. Will the beano in Egypt reverse that?
Of course it f** king won’t.
The thing will end, the attendees will hail a “significant step forward”, and them go at home to burn even more fossil fuels.
Apart from Britain, of course. Our leaders will try to stick to the rules, landing us all with higher bills in the process.
Ironic
Isn’t it ironic that, thanks to global warming, Brits will be COLDER this winter, as climate taxes make fuel more expensive, on top of Putin’s antics?
Even Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has said she will skip the COP27 talks in Egypt, criticising the global summit as a forum for “greenwashing”.
“The COPs are mainly used as an opportunity for leaders and people in power to get attention, using many different kinds of greenwashing,” she said.
“Greenwashing” is the way in which big firms pretend to be eco- friendly, while all the time continuing to abuse the planet and fleece consumers.
Greta has, for once, hit the nail on the head there.
Because what David Cameron once described as “all the green crap” is absolutely that.
It is one massive SCAM.
I don’t mean global warming is a hoax. That is happening, and it is a big problem.
The scam is being played by business.
Take “sustainable” wood- fuelled power stations. These get billions in subsidy – YOUR money – to cut down virgin forest in Canada, then sail it across the oceans to burn in Yorkshire furnaces.
How exactly does that help global warming? It doesn’t. It creates more CO2 than a coal- fired station. The primary purpose of wood- fuelled power stations is not to make electric, it’s to harvest fat subsidies, paid for by YOU AND ME!
Scam
Carbon credits? Another scam. This is the way that a firm can “offset” their emissions by continuing to pollute as before, but get away with it by planting a few f** king trees.
Countless acres are being taken out of agricultural use – that is, making OUR food – to become forests.
And as a result, land prices are rocketing and a whole new generation of farmers are being priced out of the industry.
The only winners of this whole eco scam are the big businesses who got us into this mess.
WE are the losers, facing higher energy and food bills.
And this whole wheeze is worked out at the COP summits by highly- paid lobbyists.
Our new Prime Minister should not go to COP, in fact he should go further.
He should call it out for the con trick it is.
