CRUNCH TIME: Forensics experts outside a lockup belonging to Ray Peters who last week told his wife’s ‘ transformation’ A MAN who made the astonishing claim his wife had been turned into a Toffee Crisp by space aliens has been arrested for her murder.

Last week Sunday Sport reported that former nightclub boss Ray Peters was convinced that his missus Eileen had been mysteriously turned into the tasty chock bar by moonmen.

But police became suspicious when, the day after he spoke to Sunday Sport, former scrap metal dealer Ray, 62, attempted to cash in his wife’s £ 2million life insurance policy – which had only been taken out in April.

Forensics officers searched a lock- up belonging to one of Peters’ many holding companies and found fragments of tooth along with hair and blood.

A wood- chipper was soon after found dumped in a lake in nearby woodland.

Investigators found that in the week after Eileen’s disappearance, Ray moved 19- year- old Hattie Maloney into his £ 2million five- bedroom mock Georgian house in Brentwood, Essex.

Aspiring glamour model Hattie, who has appeared as an extra in two episodes of TOWIE, was described as a “close friend” of tanning salon boss Ray who is “helping him through this difficult time.”

As Sunday Sport went to press last night, authorities had obtained another 24 hours to question Peters over the latest findings.

In his interview last week in Sunday Sport, he categorically denied murdering his wife and warned of “trouble” for anyone questioning his wife’s Toffee Crisp transformation.
