Olivia stars as the monarch while Emma portrays Abigail Hill, a favourite of the Queen.

Rachel, 48, plays Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough.

Anne, who is said to be Britain’s only bisexual monarch, is depicted having steamy lesbo sex with Emma’s character.

Speaking of filming, Olivia said: “There were some scenes I was nervous about.”

However, she came up with an interesting way of lightening the mood during the romantic bits.

She said: “I put a damp sponge between my legs, because I thought it would be funny for Emma to find. You can see in her face the sudden look of horror.’ The Favourite has had almost universal praise from critics and has been nominated for four Golden Globes including Best Lead Actress for Olivia, 44, and Best Supporting Actress for Emma, 30, and Rachel.
