Goals galore as Moors brew up a storm

SPENNYMOOR TOWN HALESOWEN TOWN 8 2

HAS there ever been a more remarkable game at Brewery Field?

There were eight goals in the opening 45 minutes as Spennymoor Town progressed into the first round of the FA Trophy.

The Moors were forced to come from behind when Danny Bragoli fired the visitors in front on eight minutes.

Adam Boyes grabbed an equaliser three minutes later but the hosts fell behind once again with a goal from Lewis Reilly.

Jason Ainsley’s side wrestled control of the game and blew away the Yeltz.

Rob Ramshaw fired the Moors level before Boyes put them ahead on 24 minutes.

The former Guiseley striker completed his hat-trick seven minutes before the interval after some fine build-up play from Shane Henry.

There was still time for Glen Taylor and Shaun Tuton to get themselves on the score sheet before half-time.

The second period was always going to struggle to equal what had gone before, although there was a new face on display for the hosts.

Substitute Alex Kempster made his Moors bow just after the hour mark just 48 hours after joining on loan from National League North rivals York City.

The former Whitley Bay winger almost made an instant impact as he looked set to fire home a debut goal within minutes of his introduction.

But a Bragoli challenge denied him the chance to get a shot away and Moors’ protests for a penalty were waved away.

Yeltz defender Kieran Morris suffered a nightmare two-minute spell as the full-time whistle approached when he scored an own goal and was then shown a red card moments later.

Rob Ramshaw grabbed the final goal of the game two minutes from with a neat finish from the edge of the area as his side eased into Monday’s draw.

Adam Boyes was on target for spennymoor in their remarkable 8-2 win over Halesowen Town
