Just one point for average Seasiders

MARSKE United’s indifferent form continued as they made it just one win in their last six games with a home draw against Belper Town.

The visitors went ahead on 17 minutes as captain Danny South rose highest from a corner to power a head beyond Seasiders keeper Robert Dean.

The hosts reacted in a positive manner after falling behind and both James Fairley and Craig Gott went close to getting them back into the game.

Butterworth marked his 300th appearance for the club by getting on the end of a Curtis Round cross and sending the ball beyond Nailers keeper Sebastian Malkowski.

Things should have got even better for Carl Jarrett’s side ahead of half time as Liddle struck a post after good work from Jack Blackford.

The hosts continued to have the upper hand after the interval as Blackford and Butterworth both tried their luck without success. They got the goal that they deserved midway through the second half as James Fairley twisted and turned in the area before curling a shot beyond Malkowski.

That goal looked set to give the Seasiders all three points, but an injury-time goal from Alfie Thompson ensured that they had to settle for just one.
