Mural pays tribute to biker Joshua
A MURAL paying tribute to biker Joshua Molloy who lost his life in a motorcycle crash has appeared on a pub wall.
Mr Molloy, from Fenham, was involved in a collision on Newbiggin Lane, Newbiggin Hall, Newcastle in the early hours of Sunday, May 3.
The 28-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Mikey Dunwiddie, who was also on the motorbike, was seriously injured and taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary.
Now an artistic tribute to
Joshua has been left at The Balloon pub in Slatyford, depicting Mr Molloy, known to friends as Buzz, riding a motorbike.
The words next to it read ‘RIP Josh Buzz Molloy 16/01/1992 – 03/05/2020’.
A note attached to flowers underneath the portrait says: “RIP Buzz” and added “You’ll never be forgotten”.
Emergency services were called to Newbiggin Lane at around 6am on May 3 where the two men had come off the motorbike.
A traffic light pole was knocked down in the collision and the road was taped off for several hours by police.
A large investigation took place both in Newbiggin Hall and in Slatyford following the fatal crash.
Mihai Dinisoae was arrested and charged with murder, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving with no insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
It was claimed in court that the 32-year-old, of Baldwin Avenue,
Fenham, was allegedly driving a Vauxhall Vectra and caused the motorbike to collide with a fence on Newbiggin Lane.
He is due to appear at Newcastle Crown Court at a later date.
