Victoria Park fans Pool resources to help club

HARTLEPOOL United supporters have helped raise more than £20,000 for the National League club.

It is just over two months since the Pools faithful launched a budget booster with an initial target of £30,000 and they are well on their way to reaching that goal.

● Blyth Spartans have completed their third signing of the summer after Matthew Elsdon (second top) joined the club from National League champions Barrow.

The 23-year-old centre-back follows former South Shields duo Callum Guy and Kieran Charlton in moving to Croft Park this summer.

● The Northern Premier League are looking for a new sponsor after their deal with bookmakers Betvictor ended earlier this week.

Dunston UTS, Marske United, Morpeth Town and South Shields all ply their trade across the NPL’S two divisions.

● Former Consett and South Shields striker Luke Sullivan (right) has joined Seaham Red Star.

The prolific frontman spent last season at Hebburn Town but will now prepare to compete with Jason Blackburn and Andrew Johnson for a place in Mark Collingwoo­d’s starting lineup.

● Ashington have revealed a specially – designed kit to pay tribute to the pioneers of football in the town.

The new black and white home shirt will be used in selected games throughout the new season and will feature a logo partially based on that of Ashington Rising Star, who became the town’s first recognised football club in 1883.

● Newcastle Benfield are looking for a videograph­er to record all of their home games during the new

Northern League season. Any interested parties should get in touch with the club via their social media outlets.

● Crook Town have added former South Shields and Chester-lestreet Town full-back Harrison Scott to their squad.

Manager Jamie Tunstall said: “He is a strong, quick, athletic type who loves to get forward from the full-back position. “He rarely got caught defensivel­y and I think he will be a great asset to a hungry squad this year.”

● Midfield duo Rob Ridley and Dean Ellis have become the latest new signings at Bedlington Terriers. Fellow midfielder Matty Fisher has also committed to the club for the new season.

● Wearside League club Horden CW have confirmed that top goalscorer Robbie Renwick will remain with the club for the new season.

The striker will hope to continue his impressive record of 71 goals in 84 appearance­s for the club.

● Wolviston have announced that former manager Chris Lax is to return to his position at the club.

Lax said: “I am really pleased to be here again for this coming season and hoping it is as good as it was last season until the season was null and void.”

● Northern Alliance club Seaton Delaval chairman David Holmes has stepped down after five years in the role.
