GRANT Hall jumped at the chance to work with Neil Warnock again.

The defender briefly played for Boro’s boss five years ago when Warnock temporarily took charge of QPR after the sacking of Chris Ramsey.

Warnock was only boss for a month but Hall saw enough from the experienced manager to know why he’s had such success in the dugout.

The defender briefly played for Boro’s boss five years ago when Warnock temporarily took charge of QPR after the sacking of Chris Ramsey.

Warnock was only boss for a month but Hall saw enough from the experienced manager to know why he’s had such success in the dugout.

And the defender has made the switch north because he believes Warnock can take Boro to the Premier League.

“I’ve worked with Neil before, I had him for a brief period at QPR and thoroughly enjoyed it,” Hall told the club website.

“I know what he’s capable of. His record speaks for itself. He’s going to bring that here next season, it was a no-brainer.

“It was a big decision but I felt it was the right decision. It was the right time to move on. With Neil coming in here, I want to be promoted, I want to go to the Premier League and I feel like I can do that here.

“Working for him again is a no – brainer. Hopefully we can get promoted. That’s the ultimate aim, I want to go up with this team.

“The facilities here are brilliant, they’re top class – Premier League facilities and that’s ultimately where the club needs to be.”

Hall has spent the last five seasons with QPR, making 130 appearances for Rangers. He captained the team last year and will add the much-needed leadership to the squad that Warnock craves.

“I see myself as a leader in the dressing room and hopefully I can bring that to the team,” said the 28-year-old.

“I’m a leader. I’m comfortable on the ball, that’s probably my best attribute, and a bit of physicality as well, wanting to defend. I’ve worked on that side in the last couple of years, I’ve added a few goals as well so hopefully I can add a few more.”
