Killingwor­th seeing off the opposition once again

A slightly depleted round of Bay Plastics Premier Division matches saw AFC Killingwor­th take advantage of results elsewhere as they dismissed visitors Wallington, and their main rivals experience­d mixed results.

Killy, with braces from Sam Walton (against his former club) and Konner Lamb, defeated visitors Wallington 4-1 and are already giving themselves some leeway at the top; Jordan Nellis replied from the penalty spot late on.

The game between AFC Burradon & New Fordley and Blyth Town ended goalless draw. Newcastle Chemfica took advantage to claim three points, edging their game at Alnwck Town 3-2 with goals from Alex Mckitteric­k, Sado Ajalo and Steve Mclaughlin, Dylan Handyside and Ross Gair replying.

Cullercoat­s, thanks to a brace from Brian Dodsworth, defeated hosts North Shields Athletic 4-0, Robbie Williamson, and Michael Laws (pen) also on target.

The final game in the top flight was settled by a solitary goal from Andy Robertson, as Whitley Bay Reserves beat ten-man Seaton Delaval.

Prudhoe Youth Club and Haltwhistl­e Jubilee continue to set the pace in the Reeves Independen­t First Division, both sides registerin­g big wins.

Youth Club beat visitors Rothbury 7-2 as Adam Bell scored twice, while Jubilee won an eight-goal thriller at home to Bedlington, Paul Wilson and Jack Currah with braces in the 5-3 win.

Cramlingto­n United won 4-1 away to Gosforth Bohemians, and Kevin Bell bagged a hat-trick as Red Row came from behind to defeat Wallsend Boys Club. Evan Howard bagged a second half treble as Whitley Sporting saw off visitors FC United of Newcastle 4-2.

West Jesmond continue to set the pace in the Team Valley Carpets

Second Division as they won 3-1 at Ashington Reserves, and Newcastle Independen­t won their top-five clash at Wideopen 2-0 – a result which afforded Newcastle University A the chance to move into second with a 4-1 home win over Stobswood Welfare.

Both Newcastle East End and Seaton Sluice registered 3-1 home wins, over Ponteland Reserves and Cramlingto­n Town respective­ly; AFC Newbiggin did the same away to ten-man Ashington Reserves, and Ellington – with a hat-trick from Adam Bains – won 5-0 at Newcastle Blue Star U23s.

Three more goals from Andy Tallen ensured Cullercoat­s Reserves stay top of the Bluefin Sports Insurance Third Division after a 3-0 home win against Newcastle East End Reserves.

There were also wins for Morpeth, North Sunderland, Newcastle Chemfica Amateurs and Red House Farm.

Morpeth defeated visitors Wooler 3-0, North Sunderland won 3-1 against Morpeth Reserves, Chemfica Amateurs won 3-2 at home to Gosforth Bohemians Reserves, and Red House – thanks to a brace from Newton-eddy and Angus – defeated Newbiggin Central 4-1.
