OPPOSITION FILE: LONDON LIONS

AFTER Newcastle Eagles knocked out the WBBL’S top two on the road to this season’s Playoff final, third-placed London Lions will feel today’s clash is theirs for the taking.

In point guard Kennedy Leonard, the Lions boast one of the stars of the WBBL season.

The Chicago-born dual national experienced first-hand the latter years of Michael Jordan’s Bulls dynasty, but she’s not alone in representing a threat to Newcastle’s fairytale finish to the 2020/21 campaign.

Cassie Breen and Stephanie Umeh combined for 34 points per game in the regular season with the former finishing second in the league for three-pointers made. Look out for Lions’ forward Chantel Charles as she comes up against former University of Main team-mate Maddy Mcvicar.
