BRANDON scored 236 runs at Marsden. Matthew Brown 76, Liam Reid 34 runs, Lewis Newby 31 and Gordon Muchall 35, while Neil Cairns claimed 4-37 with the ball. The home side’s Mckenzie Wright made 49 and Faz Hussein 70, as they fell just short on 236-9, as Ryan Green claimed 4-45.

South Shields took first knock at home to Ushaw Moor and totalled 143 all out, as Chris Stewart hit 31 from 24 balls, while Connor Surtees claimed (4-41) and Bryan Potts (3-32) with the ball. Ushaw then could only muster 99 all out, as Joshua Leslie claimed 3-23.

Littletown fired 323-9 at Dawdon Welfare, as Matthew Dench scored 103 and Tom Nicholson (83), as they put on 177 runs for the fourth wicket after they were 3-3, following a hat-trick from David Coates (3-45), while Harry Morgan and Steven Gale each claimed three wickets. Gale then scored 69, but were all out for 143, as Bryan Conlin took 4-30.

In Division Two, Silksworth batted first at home to Seaham Harbour and made just 42 runs, with only Jonny Hall with 28, getting into double figures. Nisal Tharaka with 4-24 and Jordan Wilson an excellent 5-18, destroying the batting line up. Seaham soon made the runs, scoring 43-2, to win by eight wickets.

Ryhope entertaine­d Evenwood and batted first, but struggled to a final score of 117 all out. Sagar Udeshi made 46 not out, while Joshua James claimed 3-35. The visitors had to contend with Udeshi’s bowling, as he claimed 4-7, but Luke Bannister nearly won it as he made 28 not out from 70 balls, but they fell just short on 109 all out.

Murton batted first at Hunwick, but they struggled to 121 all out, thanks to Jordan Vout who scored 58 runs. Openers Dan Keegan made 37 and Ben Thompson 62 not out, as they put on 97 runs for the first wicket, easing their side to an eightwicke­t win.

Horden only made 62 all out at home to Tudhoe, as William Jewitt claimed 5-12 and Stephen Brown 4-25, and the visitors then knocked off the runs for the loss of just two wickets.
