Whickam’s win one to remember

-

WHICKHAM produced their result and performance of the season as Tony Fawcett’s side cantered to a 4-1 win at Ryhope CW.

The Lang Jacks took a narrow lead into the interval as two goals from Scott Robson came either side of a Kyle Davis equaliser.

The lead was stretched to two when Nathan Greenwood scored with 20 minutes remaining and the former Sunderland U23 forward doubled his tally just moments later to round off an impressive display.

Seaham Red Star struck early as they claimed an impressive win at top-four contenders Ashington.

Dan Sayer was the star of the show for Mark Collingwood’s men as he scored twice inside the opening seven minutes to put his side in control at Woodhorn Lane.

Jordan Lashley pulled a goal back for the Colliers in second-half injury time – but Red Star had already done more than enough to claim the three points.

Newton Aycliffe could only take a point from their home game with Penrith. Both sides scored inside the opening 10 minutes as Matthew Moynan cancelled out a first-minute strike from Aycliffe striker Liam Jarvie.

Grant Davidson put the visitors ahead just before the hour mark – but the spoils were shared when Jarvie doubled his tally on the midway point of the second half.

Matthew Hayton, Ryan Higgins and Guillherme Balthazar netted as West Allotment Celtic eased to a 3-0 home win against Bishop Auckland.

Crook Town and Sunderland RCA shared the points at Millfield as RCA’S Craig Hennis cancelled out Tafari Nicholas’ opener.

Northallerton Town and Newcastle Benfield could not be separated at the Calvert Stadium. Richie Slaughter put Benfield ahead but the spoils were shared thanks to Michael Rae’s equaliser.

And Jordan Blinco’s equaliser earned West Auckland Town a point in their home game with Guisborough Town after Shabhan Mohammed had put the visitors ahead.
