HETTON Lyons and Felling maintained their 100% winning starts to the season.

In an exciting match at Lilywhite Terrace, Burnmoor batted first at Hetton Lyons and opener Allan Worthy made 34, alongside Paul Craig with a solid innings of 67, but they only made 145 all out.

However, the Lyons did not have it their own way, as Craig Stephenson claimed 3-18 to set up an exciting finish and the home side finished on 151-8, to scrape home by two wickets.

Felling also won for the fourth time on the trot. Opener James Cracknell smashed an excellent 117 from 118 balls at home to Tynemouth. Edward Hurst (47) and Tyler Easton (35) added useful runs to get them up to 256-7. The visitors opener Ben Debnam made 37, Esam Rahman a useful 55 and David Mansfield 44, but they were all out for 192.

Eppleton have lost their opening four games and struggled at home to Benwell Hill. They collapsed to 118 all out, thanks to a brilliant 6-25 off eight overs from Rory Hanley. Opener Kyle Coetzer then scored 64 runs from 64 balls, to steer his team to 121-3 for a comfortabl­e sevenwicke­t win.

Burnopfiel­d racked up the runs at home to Newcastle. Opener John Oswell hit an brilliant 194 from 132 balls, which included 23 fours and nine sixes, while James Radcliffe added 32 not out in a final total of 355-7. The visitors then collapsed to 79-5, however, Joe Anderson made 45, but they were all out for 235.

Chester-le-street won for the first time this season and had Jacob Mccann (38), Quentin Hughes (60) and Robbie Dawson (36), to thank, as they totalled 239-8 at home to Sunderland.

The Ashbrooke outfit then had Micky Allan in good form, as he scored 87 in the run chase, but they were all out in the end for 198.

Whitburn started fairly well at South North, but Ollie Mcgee claimed figures of 4-26, to force the visitors to be 122 all out. The home side then made 124-2 in reply, for an easy eight-wicket win.
