Campbell denies nine-man Gers

-

HIBERNIAN’S Josh Campbell scored a last-minute equaliser against a Rangers side reduced to nine men in a 2-2 draw in the cinch Premiership at Easter Road.

Rangers scored on the stroke of half-time when James Tavernier converted a penalty but Martin Boyle equalised in the 51st minute.

Tom Lawrence’s header restored Gers’ advantage before John Lundstram was shown a straight red card for a cynical foul on Boyle midway through the second period.

Substitute Alfredo Morelos became the second player to be sent off for Rangers after swinging an arm into Marijan Cabraja’s face.

But as Rangers thought they would get three points a Campbell volley from the edge of the area made sure the points were shared.

Owura Edwards snatched an 86th-minute winner for Ross County over Kilmarnock, just minutes after they were reduced to 10 men.

As the game seemed to be going for a goalless stalemate, County had a man sent off in the 81st minute when Ross Callachan was shown a second yellow card for a handball.

But they found the winner just five minutes later when Edwards finished coolly into the bottom left corner from inside the area.

A Curtis Main brace helped St Mirren cruise to a 3-0 victory over Dundee United.

St Mirren opened the scoring five minutes before the break thanks to Main’s close-range finish and doubled their advantage shortly after half-time when Main rounded off a perfect counter-attack.

The Saints sealed a perfect day at the office when Alex Greive made it three in injury time.

Kevin van Veen’s penalty helped Motherwell to their third win of the season after they secured a 1-0 win over the 10 men of Livingston.

Van Veen dispatched his penalty in the 68th minute after a handball decision but Livingston’s chances of getting back into the game were made worse when Dylan Bahamboula was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence with 10 minutes left.

A belter from Leighton Clarkson gave Aberdeen all three points in a 1-0 triumph at St Johnstone.

Ten minutes in the second half, Aberdeen were handed a free-kick from which Clarkson rifled in from 30 yards to hand them their second win of the season.
