DIVISION ONE

Brandon maintained their lead at the top with a three-wicket away win over Esh Winning to secure the championsh­ip title with two weeks still to go.

Esh elected to bat first and were all out for 149. Karl Turner hit 56 but

Jordan Grosert’s 5-28 kept Esh at bay.

Brandon reached 150-7 in 33.4 overs, with contributi­ons from Chris Peareth (30) and Dean Storey jnr (60no).

Littletown chose to bat first when visiting second-placed Durham City.

Martin Hubber (3-31) and Cameron Fyfe (3-9) bowled well, limiting Littletown’s scoring chances. They were all out for 114.

In reply, Durham City had no trouble reaching 118-1 in 21.4 overs. Adam Khan hit 61 not out in 71 balls and

George Pullinger added 51 not out from only 35 balls.

Dawdon Welfare decided to bat first when they travelled to Seaham Harbour. Dan Adams opened with 31 from 25 balls. Jamie Cahill added 35 from 37 balls. With no other batsmen of note, Dawdon were all out for 138. Greg Davison did most damage, taking 4-13.

Seaham Harbour needed only 21.3 overs to seal victory with 141-2. Ryan Consitt hit 55 not out in 56 balls and Niall Cowell added 52 not out in 45 balls, including nine fours.

South Shields were put in to bat first by hosts Boldon and were all out for 165. Sameer Awan hit 56 from 64 balls, but he had too little support from his team mates. Joseph Forster was pick of the bowlers with 3-37. Boldon reached 167-4 in 30 overs, James Carroll (44) and Christophe­r Allan (37) helping them on their way to victory.

Ryhope had no game this weekend.

DIVISION TWO Second-placed Boldon CA welcomed basement club Hunwick. Boldon seriously under-estimated their opposition as they batted first and were all out for 79. The batsmen were held back by the bowling of Max Bailey (3-20) and Stephen Newton (3-21).

Hunwick, seizing the opportunit­y to pull themselves out of the relegation zone, made a great start with 39 not out from Arron Proud, tasting a rare victory with 82-3 in 19 overs. Boldon CA’S loss saw them move into third.

Evenwood travelled to Langley Park and Bearpark and came away victorious, moving up to second in the table.

Peterlee welcomed Tudhoe to Helford Oval and elected to bat first.

Scott Birks opened with 33, Ellis Dunn added 36 and Jordan Linehan contribute­d 39 not out to their team total of 208-7.

In reply, Tudhoe missed their opportunit­y to take advantage of Boldon’s defeat, losing points when they could only reach 196-9.

Daniel Grey hit 38, Nathan Bushnell 35 and Jack Warren 52.
